Colorado State University Instrumental Rehearsal Space

This project involved setting up a complete audio-visual system for a meeting and rehearsal space, aiming to deliver high-quality sound and video along with easy control for users. The system was designed to be simple to use, ensuring that everyone could focus on the meeting or rehearsal without worrying about complicated technology. It was also made fully accessible for people with hearing impairments.

Scope of Work

The audio system included powerful speakers and amplifiers to ensure clear and rich sound throughout the room. Microphones were installed to capture voice clearly, whether from a speaker or a presenter. Additionally, a special system was added to help people with hearing impairments, allowing them to better hear everything happening in the room. Audio recording equipment was also included for capturing meetings or rehearsals.

For the video setup, cameras were positioned around the room to capture everything happening. A projector and large screen were installed to display video content or presentations clearly. A switcher was used to manage the video signals, allowing easy switching between different devices like computers or media players. A system for wireless presentation streaming was also included, allowing people to share content from their devices without needing to connect cables.

To make controlling the entire system easy, a central control processor was set up, which could be managed through a touchscreen panel. This allowed the user to control everything—from adjusting the volume to changing the video source—quickly and without hassle. A network switch powered all the connected equipment, ensuring everything ran smoothly.

For smaller rehearsal sessions, a simpler setup was included with smaller speakers, amplifiers, and a large display for video.

Conclusion

The entire system was installed, tested, and programmed to ensure everything worked perfectly. Training was provided to help users get comfortable with the system, so they could operate it without any issues. A one-year warranty on the installation ensured the system would remain reliable. The project was a success, providing the client with a high-quality, user-friendly audio-visual system that met all their needs and was accessible to everyone.
