HCLV is proud to showcase our recent work with the City of Brighton, where we successfully upgraded their Vocia paging system to the highly advanced and scalable Qsys paging system. This project enhanced communication capabilities across the city’s facilities, delivering a more reliable, flexible, and professional-grade solution for paging and emergency alerts.

Project Highlights:

  • Vocia to Qsys System Upgrade: We replaced the old Vocia server with the state-of-the-art Qsys Core 8 Flex, providing improved processing power and flexibility for future system expansions. We also upgraded the outdated Vocia amplifier to the Qsys 8-Channel Amplifier, improving sound quality and amplifying output for enhanced paging coverage throughout the building.

  • VOIP-Based Paging: The upgraded Qsys paging system now supports VOIP-based paging, allowing the City of Brighton to make announcements to specific floors or all floors. This functionality improves efficiency by targeting communications to relevant areas.

  • Messaging & Lockdown Integration: As part of the upgrade, lockdown messages were integrated into the Qsys system, with the ability to play on a loop until deactivated. This feature ensures critical emergency messages are heard clearly and consistently until acknowledged, supporting the city’s emergency communication system.

  • Speaker Zone Rewiring: The second-floor speaker zone was rewired to ensure optimal audio coverage and functionality, supporting the expanded capacity of the new Qsys paging system.

Outcome:

With the Qsys paging system upgrade, the City of Brighton now benefits from a more reliable and scalable paging system, improving both day-to-day operations and emergency communication efforts. The integration of VOIP paging, emergency lockdown messaging, and advanced system flexibility ensures the city can respond quickly and efficiently to any situation.
