Metropolitan State University of Denver – AV for 100+ Classrooms

Project Overview:

The overarching goal of this project was to transform more than 100 classrooms into modern, technologically advanced learning environments. These upgrades were envisioned to enhance the teaching and learning experiences for both educators and students, fostering an environment of innovation, engagement, and efficiency.

Key Technological Components:

1. Qsys Control: At the heart of the classroom upgrades was the integration of Qsys control systems. Qsys is renowned for its intuitive and versatile control solutions, allowing instructors to manage various audiovisual components seamlessly. This technology empowered educators to control audio, video, and other classroom systems effortlessly, optimizing the teaching experience.
2. Panasonic Laser Projectors: The visual centerpiece of these classroom upgrades featured the installation of high-quality Panasonic laser projectors. These projectors represented a significant leap forward in visual technology, offering bright, sharp, and reliable projection capabilities. The laser technology ensured extended durability and minimized maintenance requirements, contributing to the long-term sustainability of the project.
3. Atlona Video Switching: To facilitate efficient content sharing and distribution, HCLV integrated Atlona video-switching solutions. These systems allowed for seamless switching and routing of video signals, enabling educators to display various content sources with ease. The inclusion of Atlona technology streamlined the process of delivering engaging and interactive lessons.

Challenges and Tight Schedule:

One of the most formidable challenges faced by HCLV in this project was the tight schedule. The summer break provided a narrow window of opportunity for upgrades as the classrooms were frequently used during the academic year. This meant that the project had to be meticulously planned and executed to minimize disruptions to the educational process.

They collaborated closely with the AV consultant, K2, and the General contractor, Fransen Pittman, to ensure that the project remained on track. On-Time and On-Budget Completion:

Through a concerted and well-coordinated effort, HCLV, K2, and Fransen Pittman managed to achieve the remarkable feat of completing the project on time and on budget. This accomplishment underscored the dedication, expertise, and commitment of all parties involved. The successful upgrade of over 100 classrooms within a limited timeframe demonstrated HCLV’s capacity to deliver complex projects efficiently and to the highest standards.
