Mountain View Fire Rescue AV Upgrades

Summary

High Country Low Voltage worked with the Mountain Fire View Rescue to enhance overall communication, training, and collaboration capabilities with updated technology in both the primary training space (Room 147) and the adjoining multipurpose room. The goal was to create standalone, easy-to-use rooms that could also work together when needed, supporting hybrid meetings, interactive classes, and board sessions. This project included full delivery, setup, programming, and testing of all systems to ensure user-friendly operation for both in-person and remote needs.

Scope of Work

Training Room 147

This space was designed as a fully equipped training room that can also function independently or be joined with the larger multipurpose room for extended use. Key features include:

  • Complete Room Audio: A ceiling microphone captures sound from the entire room, making it easy for remote participants to hear everyone clearly. A lapel mic gives the presenter focused audio support for lectures or speaking engagements.

  • Dual Display Setup: Two large screens were mounted for flexible viewing. They can show the same content or different materials, depending on the needs of the class or event.

  • Room Cameras: Two cameras allow for flexible viewing, capturing both the presenter and audience. These can be adjusted with presets and can work independently or in sync with the larger room setup.

  • Wireless Presentation System: Presenters can wirelessly share content from their laptops, including dual-screen setups for showing a slideshow on one screen and notes on the other.

  • Full-Room Sound: Ceiling speakers deliver clear audio coverage across the space for both in-person presentations and virtual meetings.

  • Easy Room Control: A wall-mounted touchscreen provides simple one-touch control of room functions. Presenters can choose camera views, adjust microphones, and manage screen displays without needing technical support.

  • Reliable Backup Connections: A wired wall connection is available for times when wireless isn’t preferred or necessary.

Multipurpose Room & Combined Setup

The multipurpose space was designed with flexible features that support everything from training sessions to formal board meetings:

  • Flexible Microphone Options: A combination of handheld, lapel, and tabletop microphones supports a range of speaking situations—whether it’s a single presenter, open discussion, or formal board meeting.

  • Large Visual Displays: Multiple large screens ensure that visuals are clearly visible from any point in the room, and can either show the same content or be used independently.

  • Comprehensive Camera Coverage: Room cameras are positioned to capture wide views or close-ups, with adjustable presets for easy switching between views.

  • Full Audio Coverage: Ceiling-mounted speakers provide even sound distribution so that everyone in the room hears clearly, regardless of the room layout.

  • One-Touch Room Setup: With a few taps on a touchscreen, users can select pre-programmed settings for different types of meetings or classes. The system will adjust cameras, audio, and displays automatically.

  • Wireless Presentation Tools: Presenters can share their screens wirelessly and even display content from two laptops at once, with support for extended desktop use.

Conclusion

Mountain View Fire Rescue’s technology upgrade for Training Room 147 and the Multipurpose Room delivers a reliable, modern solution that’s built for flexibility. Whether being used separately or as one larger space, the rooms are equipped for smooth presentations, meetings, and remote collaboration. With user-friendly controls, clear visuals, and professional-grade sound, the setup ensures the team can focus on their message—not the technology.
